Command Tips: Curve
Create the path and guide curves first when sweeping so that that the profile appears at the right point in history to apply Pierce relations.

Get curve position data into a table with a curve driven pattern. Create a hole at the end of the curve, then pattern the hole - a thousand? - times. Create a drawing and place a hole table to get the dimensions of the holes along the curve.

Know that you don't need a sketch (2d or 3d) to draw a curve. You can use Curve>Curve Through Reference Points

Use an equation to drive a feature via Insert>Curve through XYZ Points. Create a file of XYZ points (use a spreadsheet if you like), then Load File. You could use a sine curve for a sweep.
